A Note

Just a word of advice for those who read, or comment on my blog. If you don't like what I have to say, state your opinion and leave it at that. Or, to sound like a cliche- don't read what I have to say. No one forces you to come here. Your choice. But, don't come on my blog, read my words, twist them to suit you and then take it another step. What I do with my blog (sit around and decide how to decorate it this week, for example) really has nothing to do with my intelligence or my opinion on bigger issues. What I say on my blog is not wrong- it's my opinion, and the last time I checked, I had the right to say any damn thing I please.

No one has the right to say anyone else is wrong for their beliefs, their faith or any of the choices they make. Everyone has the right to their own opinions.. ya know, it's that whole freedom thing? Hell, keeping those freedoms and choices are part of the reason I supported who I did. The "Band Aids" are another. Ya know.. the steps in a new direction?

I'm not disrespecting the troops. To suggest that i am is pretty offensive to me. That's bullshit, and nowhere in any of my words did I say that. I firmly support the men and women fighting for our country- I believe that they are all heroes. I do not, however, support sending billions of dollars out of a country that needs to start taking better care of its own first. My opinion- I'm entitled to that. Same as my belief that the troops need to come home, that its long over due. As for decisions not made lightly, I believe that for most leaders, that probably is true. However, I think the last eight years prove "trigger happy" is an understatement. Get Daddy's attention another way.

I'm not touching these comments again. I'm not publishing them any longer- telling me I'm wrong, and attempting to make me look like a stupid female who does little more than decorate this blog proves how little you have actually READ. I'm certainly not going to defend myself continually to someone who remains anonymous, with no links, no email, nothing. Think whatever you want. That's your right. But think it without attacking someone because your opinion says they are wrong for supporting the President Elect.

That's actually what makes this country so great, isn't it? The diversity, the differing points of view? It's a shame when we can't respect each other even while disagreeing. Take the negativity elsewhere. I have enough on my plate without worrying about what people on the friggin internet think about me.

Random Stuff About Me- 3

**WARNING**- this will not be as light hearted as the previous two "Random" posts have been. I'm growing bolder with age, I suppose, and am going to let a little more hang out for the world to see. To truly embrace yourself, you have to be open and let the world think what it will... and I'm getting there, day by day. How I'm getting there has surprised me; it surprises me a little more every day. So, without further ado (LOL) more of moi.. (I know, you can hardly wait!!)

1. I have a mild form of hydrocephalus. To be easier explained, I have excess fluid in the left ventricle of my brain. not enough for a shunt, but enough to make some things a little more difficult than should be, I suppose. I didn't know a lot about it until i had a reaction to medication, because of the imbalance. Now, I have to be more careful.

2. I have terrible, terrible eye sight. I am supposed to wear glasses all the time, but don't. I'm not vain, but i think they make me look geekier than I need to, lol. I sometimes tilt my head or move it around, without my knowledge, attempting to "clear my vision." This is a habit that dates back to childhood, when I had a corrective surgery as a small child. My left eye is considered "lazy". I consider it a pain in my ass. : )

3. I'm not the girl i used to be, but this summer, I finally know where to find her when I need her. A lot has brought this on, shaped it and pushed it along. The sequence of events that started this year off have finally brought me closer to peace than i have been in a long, long time. I'm more grateful for that than anyone could ever know.

4. I am not perfect, but I'm a good person, deep down. I may not always show my softer side, but I care pretty deeply for those in my life. I can, however, turn it on and off as need be- a survival instinct that isn't a good thing, but one that pulls me through when I need it.

5. I fell in love with my husband when I was sixteen. We did not meet for another year and a half, or date for another two. The first time i saw him, he was smiling in a way that had me telling my mother he was the man I was going to marry. I wanted someone to smile that way at me; he eventually did.

6. I never give up, once I sink my teeth in. If i truly want something, nothing stands in my way. There are very few things i have ever wanted to that extent, but when i do, watch out. I don't quit, when it counts.

7. My mother was a beautiful woman when she was young. I didn't know this until i came upon a picture of her in a professional glamour shot. Growing up, she never dressed up or wore makeup- in that picture, she wore both. And was stunning.
That surprised me, for some reason. I never thought of her like that, I guess. She never showed that side of herself to me, and her attitude never brought it out.

8. My father was a handsome, handsome guy when he was young. I saw pictures of him all my life of when he was young, tanned and muscled. He saved a woman from drowning once, and was in the paper for it. I always thought he was the perfect hero, even when I didn't notice.

9. I have complete faith that I'm finally on the right track. where I'm going, i have no idea. But I'm getting there the right way. :)

So, what about you? what do you never think to mention?

Cause I'm Random, K?

I am exhausted today, Internet. Seriously draggin... and all thanks to a small one with great lungs. LOL This teething thing is wearing on me; I'd forgotten how miserable the poor little things get. and how little they can sleep, regardless of anything you do, the pain still seems to creep up on them and keep them miserable. I feel for her, I really do. But right now I feel like I've been on a bender, lol. I think I've had maybe four hours, tops, in the last couple of days. There's not enough coffee on the planet!

Other than that, life's been quiet. I'm stressed for a lot of reasons, and not any of them are really too huge. But i stress all the same. Other than the blogosphere, I'm not venturing into much at the moment. I've tossed out some movies for you guys, some music, and a terrific video (can we say number on on VH1 Top 20 Countdown after TWO weeks? Yeah... let's see some other boyband do that. Oh, wait... they couldn't... my bad!)

So I'm random today, and just kind of hangin out. Not much to say, not a lot I'm planning on doing today. Maybe some music and a drive with a friend. Maybe a bubble bath and headphones. something to relax, take some of the weight off my shoulders. And hopefully some sleep tonight, so i can be back to making some sense tomorrow... as much as I make anyway! ; )

What about you? Show me some love, tell me what you do to relax, de-stress, and comment on my good lookin guy down there! He's lonesome! ; )

Lurkers Unite!!! I Wanna Hear From YOU

OK, I'm officially calling today National Lurker's Day! Why? Because I seem to have a lot of lurkers, and I'm an extremely nosy person. I love feedback, I love interacting with new people, familiar people... you get the general idea.

So, lurkers, today is your day! Come out of the woodwork and comment! Let me know who you are, why ya read and where ya blog (if you do, I'm sure not everyone on the planet has a blog. Close, probably, but not everyone.)

That's the order of the day- de-lurk and say hello! Who knows, maybe I'll give you a cookie. Probably not; I love cookies, and seeing as how you are somewhere else, I'd eat it before it got to you. But, it should mean something that I intended to give you a cookie. So there.
