One For the Books

Barack Obama elected 44th President of the United States

Whoever you voted for, whatever your feelings, this is a historical moment for our country. Unbelievable! I am sitting here in awe as I write this (and yes, happy as hell). It is time for a change. And I do believe it's coming.

Let's come together as a nation now and witness this first together. Anything is possible, folks... and for the first time in eight years, I really do believe that.

The election of Barack Obama to President of the United States is historic. However, racism will still thrive and this election will mean nothing if we remember its historic significance. The election of John Kennedy was historic as well, but we have gotten past its significance. Hank Greenberg was a significant baseball player, but we remember Jackie Robinson. As long as we remember African American's accomplishments because they were African American, we continue to feed into the racism.

All America did in this election was allow another politician to sway them with lies.

Sheesh, the cynics!

I'm with you - I could not be more excited or hopeful that the next four years will yield great things. No one is saying it's all going to just happen by magic or overnight, but I do think we can only go up from the last 8 years.
